Creating Boards

With Altura, you can create boards to efficiently organize your projects and tasks. Follow the steps below to easily create a new board.

Step 1: Open the "Boards Overview" Page

Go to the left-hand menu, navigate to Projects, and click on Boards Overview. This will bring you to a page displaying an overview of existing boards (if any) and a button to create a new board.

Step 2: Start Creating a New Board

Click the "Create Board" button. If there are no existing boards, this button will be in the middle of the screen. If you already have boards, you can find the button in the upper right corner of the interface.

A pop-up window will appear:

Step 3: Fill in the Board Details

In the pop-up window, you can enter the following details:

  • Board Name: Give your board a clear name that describes its purpose or contents.
  • Visibility: Choose whether the board is public (visible to all team members) or private (visible only to specific users).
  • Color and Icon: Select a color and an icon to visually distinguish your board. This helps with quick recognition.
  • Add Users: Add colleagues to the board by searching for their name or email address. You can assign roles such as Owner or Member.

Click "Create" to finalize the board creation.

Recommendation: We suggest creating a board for Active Bids. Provide a relevant title and feel free to customize other settings, such as color and icon. These settings can be adjusted later.

Additionally, consider creating a second board for Expected Bids, if needed.

Step 4: Add Columns to Your Board

Once the board is created, an empty board will be displayed. You will see a message:
"Your board is looking a bit empty! To get started, create your first swimlanes by opening the settings from the context menu in the top right. Once you've set them up, you’ll be ready to organize your projects with ease!"

  1. Click "Edit Columns", then select "+ Add Column".

  2. Add the necessary columns to structure your board. Our recommendation is to align the columns with the phases of your bid management process.
For example: "Identify," "Qualify," "Write Bronze/Silver/Gold," "Submitted," "Evaluate."

Tip: If you exit the edit mode, you can re-enable it by clicking the three dots (...) in the top right corner and selecting Edit Columns.

The board is now ready to use! 🎉
